Mercedes-Benz T-CLASS Reviews On Road Price 2024 Mileage, Features, Engine, Performance, Design & Images

Mercedes-Benz T-CLASS Reviews- The T-Class’s design reflects its Mercedes heritage, featuring the characteristic Mercedes grille with chrome accents and a prominent three-pointed star. It also showcases distinctive headlights, bonnet, and front wings. The cabin of the T-Class is easily accessible through sliding rear doors with fixed windows. Additionally, buyers have the option to choose a twin ‘barn-door’ setup for the near-vertical tailgate that opens at bumper level.

As a premium small van, the T-Class offers plenty of versatile space along with a high level of comfort and functionality. It can comfortably seat five people and has a foldable rear bench seat, spacious tailgate, and low loading sill. This allows for convenient storage of various items such as sports equipment, bicycles, prams, or even a dog crate. Consequently, the T-Class is perfect for everyday use as well as trips to the seaside or mountains due to its exceptional storage capacity.

Mercedes-Benz T-CLASS Reviews 2024

The Mercedes T-Class is a car that deserves consideration due to its unique offering in the market. Despite facing competition from the Ford Tourneo Connect and Volkswagen Caddy Life, it stands out with its distinctive features. The T-Class can be compared to transforming your garage into a cozy new bedroom, as it combines van-like practicality with luxurious elements and extra seating for a comfortable family ride.

While the exterior still maintains some resemblance to a van, there are minimal visual differences compared to the Mercedes Citan small van, which serves as the foundation for the T-Class. The only noticeable change is the inclusion of body-colored bumpers as standard. Inside, efforts have been made to conceal its van origins. The use of artificial leather and well-trimmed surfaces creates a premium feel, although there are still areas where scratchy plastic remains present.

Although the exact details of the powertrain are not yet known, the manufacturer confirms that alongside conventional drive systems, there will also be an option for a fully electric variant. This electric version will use the same powertrain as the Kangoo EV, which has a single motor setup providing 59bhp and a range of 150 kilometers.

Engine

Measuring 177.1 inches in length and 71.3 inches in height, the T-class offers generous room for up to five occupants. However, Mercedes recently announced their plans to develop a long-wheelbase version with seven seats. The T-class is equipped with a range of inline-four engines, including two 1.5-liter diesel choices and two turbocharged 1.3-liter gasoline options. Despite its capabilities, the most powerful gasoline engine only delivers 129 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. In terms of transmissions, a standard six-speed manual gearbox is included, but the two diesel engines and the more potent gasoline engine can be paired with an optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The T-class comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, keyless start, a 5.5-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, and LED interior lighting. Most of the interior is decorated with synthetic leather, while the dashboard showcases glossy black trim. The back bench seat can be folded down to provide extra storage space, and Mercedes emphasizes the wide sliding door openings and low rear sill for added convenience. Customers can select either the Style or Progressive Line packages to enhance the luxuriousness of both the interior and exterior details.

Interior

The van’s interior provides a range of features that offer a luxurious experience akin to that of a Mercedes. These include a multifunctional steering wheel, instrument graphics, and circular air vents. A standout feature is the 7.0-inch infotainment display with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which can also be found in other models such as the A-Class and B-Class. In terms of functionality, the T-Class has been designed with generous storage spaces and door bins. Furthermore, foldable plastic tables are available at the rear of the front seats.

Conclusion

The Mercedes-Benz T-Class joins a growing range of vehicles in its segment, competing against the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter, Vauxhall Combo Life, and other models. It is based on the Citan van, which was developed in collaboration with the Renault Kangoo and will eventually have a passenger version. Initially, the T-Class will be equipped with five seats and a conventional diesel engine, making it less exciting compared to future versions. However, there are plans to release a longer seven-seater variant and an electric version in the future. Unlike the exclusively electric Citroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall models, the T-Class will also offer a diesel model in the UK.
